Our Approach

Supporting Families with Professional Guidance and Care

At Trauma and The Art of Healing PLLC, we understand that legal matters involving family dynamics can be complex, emotionally charged, and challenging to navigate. Our Court Services are designed to provide professional support to families, legal professionals, and the courts, ensuring the well-being of children and the fair resolution of family conflicts. Whether you need assistance with supervised visitation, parent coordination, or therapeutic interventions, we offer a range of services tailored to meet your specific needs.

Court Services Without a Licensed Clinician

These services are provided by trained professionals who offer structured support in situations where clinical intervention is not required.

  • Supervised Visitation

Supervised visitation allows a non-custodial parent to spend time with their child in a safe, controlled environment. This service ensures the child’s well-being while fostering the parent-child relationship under the supervision of a neutral third party. Our goal is to provide a secure, supportive setting where healthy interactions can occur without conflict or concern.

  • Parent Coordinator/Facilitator

A Parent Coordinator assists high-conflict families in implementing court-ordered parenting plans. They help resolve disputes related to custody, visitation schedules, and co-parenting issues, promoting effective communication and minimizing the emotional impact on children. Parent coordinators are neutral professionals who work to reduce conflict and improve family dynamics.

  • Safe Child Exchange

The Safe Child Exchange service provides a neutral, secure environment for the transfer of children between parents, reducing the potential for conflict during custody exchanges. Our staff ensures that transitions are smooth, stress-free, and focused on the child’s emotional comfort and safety.

Court Services With a Licensed Clinician

For cases requiring clinical expertise, our licensed mental health professionals offer therapeutic support alongside legal guidance to promote emotional healing and family stability.

  • Therapeutic Supervised Visitation

Therapeutic Supervised Visitation goes beyond basic supervision by incorporating clinical support during parent-child interactions. A licensed clinician observes and guides the visits, offering real-time feedback, conflict resolution strategies, and emotional support to improve relational dynamics and promote healthy bonding. This service is especially beneficial in cases involving trauma, estrangement, or high-conflict situations.

  • Therapeutic Reunification

When a child has been estranged from a parent due to family conflict, divorce, or past trauma, Therapeutic Reunification helps rebuild and repair the parent-child relationship. A licensed clinician facilitates sessions focused on addressing emotional barriers, fostering open communication, and gradually restoring trust in a safe, therapeutic environment.

  • Guardian Ad Litem (GAL)

A Guardian Ad Litem is a court-appointed professional who represents the best interests of the child in legal proceedings. The GAL conducts thorough assessments, interviews, and evaluations to provide objective recommendations to the court regarding custody, visitation, and the child’s overall well-being. Their primary focus is to ensure the child’s voice is heard and their needs are prioritized in legal decisions.

  • Parent Coordinator/Facilitator

With clinical expertise, a Parent Coordinator/Facilitator assists families experiencing intense conflict around co-parenting. Unlike non-clinical parent coordinators, our licensed professionals can address the emotional and psychological aspects of co-parenting challenges, helping parents manage disputes more effectively while focusing on the child’s best interests.

  • Supervised Visitation (Clinical)

In certain situations, Supervised Visitation may require the presence of a licensed clinician, especially when there are concerns related to mental health, substance abuse, or family trauma. Clinical supervision provides an additional layer of support, ensuring the child’s safety while offering therapeutic interventions when needed.
